- Gorilla trekking demands robust physical fitness, involving challenging hikes lasting one to eight hours over steep, muddy terrain at elevations approaching 9,000 feet. Participants must be in good health and should prepare by building stamina for hilly terrain. The strictly regulated one-hour gorilla encounters prohibit visibly ill travelers and children under 15 to protect the primates. Porter assistance is available at additional cost.
Your Tanzania safari experience complements this adventure with excellent accommodations ranging from hotels to deluxe tented camps, diverse cuisine and wildlife viewing during transfers between parks—which may involve up to six-hour drives over varying road conditions. Travelers must be able to climb into 4x4 vehicles and small aircraft, maintaining flexibility and an adventurous spirit to fully appreciate these remarkable experiences. - Trip Price
